The Chicon Collective is an initiative by @taylorhou and @arriaowlia to support the startup enthusiasm in Austin.
Our goal is to create an awesome space where like-minded individuals can come at any time, 24/7 to meet, network, chill, study, work and most importantly collaborate.
There’s a lot of enthusiasm by individuals who moonlight or are brave enough to turn down those brand name tech companies to work on their own products. We want to bring that enthusiasm together so great people can form great teams to build great products which ultimately lead to great companies.
We have about 25 desk seats available to use with about 5 spots on couches/lounge chairs. At a cost of $80/month per professional member, we can cover our costs.
We don’t want to break the bank for students so for those still in school, we do $40/month
If you consider the fact that you typically spend $3-5 each time you go to a coffee shop, this should be a no brainer.
Our memberships will work like this:
All members will get 24/7 access to the space
All members are required to spend time on another member’s project. That time is determined by you and the project owner. – We’re primarily trying to promote cross-pollination of skills and foster communication.
Easy enough? – Our motto is to “Show Don’t Tell” and keeping along those lines, we are looking for designers and developers to fill out the space for now. If you are a business person, we’re sorry but you aren’t allowed at this point in time.
